MAKERS CONFERENCE
The
Nollywood Film Makers Conference is aimed at young Talents and those who wish
to work in the Nigerian Film Industry. Through research, interaction and
experience, it has been discovered that many young talents do not even know/understand
anything about the industry and how to succeed in it; they are passionate, but
lack access to basic information to help them succeed in their chosen field.
The conference will help to educate young talents in the basics of every
segment of the film industry. This will provide them with the needed
information they’ve been lacking.
Young/upcoming talents have suffered
the most in the industry, as there is little or no information and resources
available to assist/guide them in their quest to succeed in the industry. They
have been exploited by some unscrupulous persons due to lack of exposure and
access to relevant information and resources.
The conference will feature working
industry professionals and keynote speakers who will speak on The Nollywood, Film Making Business,
Screenwriting, Directing, Production Management, Contracts and Intellectual
Property Law, Theatrical Film Distribution, and The Role of Social Media in the New Nollywood. These speakers will
inspire, encourage, and expose attendants to information and resources needed
to succeed in the evolving industry.
Inspiration alone is never enough to
achieve desired change, most events are geared towards inspiring participants
and the usual result is that enthusiasm amongst the participants fizzles out
shortly after the event. The NOLLY Film Makers Conference will provide
participants with needed information and instructions that will clearly point
out key knowledge areas, needed skills and desirable attitudes that will set
them.
